Updated: Oct 11

FirstCry is a B2C e-commerce platform specializing in fashion and kids' wear, founded in 2010 by Supam Maheshwari and Amitava Saha. FirstCry is a leading e-commerce platform in India, specializing in products for babies, toddlers, and young children. With a mission to provide a one-stop shopping experience for parents, FirstCry offers a vast selection of high-quality products that cater to the needs of families.  The company reached a valuation of $3 billion in 2020.

Problem

Parents in India faced limited options for buying baby products, with offline retail stores offering limited variety and online platforms not specifically catering to baby and kids' products.

Firstcry Solution

FirstCry created an online marketplace exclusively for baby and kids' products, offering a wide range of items from toys to clothing and baby care essentials, making it easier for parents to find everything they needed in one place.

Initial Users & Marketing Hack

FirstCry’s initial users were parents seeking convenience and variety in purchasing baby products. They grew by distributing free FirstCry-branded gift boxes in hospitals to new mothers, building early customer loyalty. They also used aggressive digital marketing campaigns on Google and Facebook, along with influencer endorsements, to expand their reach.
