If yours is not here, write to us. We would rather answer it twice than have you guess.

The basics

No. There is one celebration: the traditional wedding on Saturday 31 October 2026, beginning at 15:00. There is no separate white wedding, no second reception and no next-day brunch. One afternoon and evening, done properly.
Wednesday 30 September 2026. Final numbers go to the caterer the following week, so we cannot extend it. If we have not heard from you by then we will regrettably have to assume you cannot make it.

Invitations were sent to a small, chosen group, and that group is the guest list. If one reached you, you are very welcome indeed.

If an invitation did not reach you, we are sorry, but we will not be able to welcome you on the day. Please do not read anything into that beyond the size of the hall. We would have loved to have everyone we care about with us, the room simply will not hold them, and we hope to celebrate with you another time.

If you are unsure whether your invitation covers someone else, do ask us beforehand rather than on the day.

On the day

It begins at 15:00, so please arrive for three rather than at some point after it. Aim to be parked by a quarter to at the latest, which leaves you time to greet people and find a seat before the bridal team enters at 15:30. Latecomers will be held at the back until the procession has finished, which nobody enjoys.
Black and white, please. Traditional attire is warmly encouraged and never required; if you have none, smart dress in black and white is perfect. The wedding is indoors and warm, but it is the end of October, so bring a coat for the door. There is more detail on the Gallery page.
Indoors, and warm. The only cold you will feel is between the car and the door. Worth knowing: the clocks go back the Sunday before, so on the day the sun sets at 16:31 and it is properly dark by just after five. Starting at three means the ceremony is in daylight, but it will be long dark when you leave. Bring a coat.
Yes, everywhere except during the ceremony itself. Phones and cameras away from the procession until it is finished. Our photographer needs a clear view, and we would love to see your faces rather than your screens. After that, take as many as you like and tag them #NovuyoAndMuzingaye2026.
Please ask the serving staff on the day. They will be able to tell you what is in each dish. We are not able to prepare separate plates to order, so if you have a dietary requirement or an allergy, do check with them before you eat rather than assume. We would rather say plainly that this one rests with you than have anyone caught out on the night.
We close at 22:00. Please plan your journey home carefully and check the last train times for your route before you travel. If you are relying on a taxi, book it in advance rather than hoping, particularly as it is a Halloween Saturday and the town will be busy. And please do not drive if you have been drinking.

Gifts & getting there

There isn’t one. Your presence on the day is the gift. And if you would like to give something towards our new chapter as well, we would love that; the details are on the Gifts page.
There is parking at the venue, though we would not rely on there being a space for everyone. If you can share a car, please do. There is more on the Travel page.
There is plenty within easy reach, so the quickest way is to look for yourself. Search Airbnb or Booking.com using the venue postcode, SS2 6XY, and you will see what is nearby. Southend and Leigh-on-Sea both have a good spread of hotels, guesthouses and holiday lets. Do book early: it is a Halloween Saturday and rooms go.
Please tell us on the RSVP if you use a wheelchair, have difficulty with steps, or need a seat close to the front. We will check the arrangements with the venue and come back to you directly, rather than have you arrive and hope. If it is easier, message us and we will find out whatever you need to know.
